Finally got on the salt for the first time this year Very Happy
OTW 10am, condition was perfect, overcast, cool, wind ENE about 5-10, light fog on the flats, found fish right away, it was pretty fast pace every drift, ranging from small schoolies to mid 20s, managed one keeper at 28", forgot the glove so the thumb is sore Wink . Most came on the spook, also some on sluggo and a few on the long wand with flies

5/28, was planning on staying home to catch up on some fly tying due to the weather, than the olde man called, he said put your long john on, and off we went scratch
OTW about 11am, pouring rain, blowing 20+mph gusting to 30 from NE, air temp was 46 degrees, not a soul on the water Rolling Eyes , fish obviously all got the memo but we didn't, tough bite, only got a dozen or so with largest to 26". Off the water by 3 and HOT SHOWER

5/29 OTW 11am, finally a nice sunny day, light wind out of SE about 5-8, fish showed up right at high tide, mostly low to mid 20"s, saw some bigger ones but did not catch any keepers, today they are knocking the spook clear out of the water with their mouths closed Mad , lots of action but much less hook-ups. timing of the tide is not good, will be lot better in 4-5 days, much rather have cloudy and foggy days because all these fish are in about 2' of water Wink

A repeat of yesterday, However, it was painful to watch a high 30s sucks your lure in, set the hook and the lure came flying back at you Evil or Very Mad

Today:
Bad news: wrong timing with the tide, weekend crowd, and bright sunny sky = poor fishing Crying or Very sad
Good new: Both quantity and quality linesiders are on the flats Smile

Yesterday 6/2 did the afternoon tide due to the timing, tough bite
Today, finally got to check out the morning tide, OTW 4:30am, much better, found lots of surface feed, but fish are still not 100% committed, lost a few big ones, ended up with one keeper each, 30" and 31", forecast looks good next few days

today the weather was perfect, fog, drizzle, light breeze out of NE, figured the bite is going to be on
NOT, OTW at 5am, the surface feed from last two days never materialized, slim picking here and there, 9am the rain came and the schoolie blitz started, end up with great numbers on the fly rod for the day but only two keepers up to 32", left them biting Rolling Eyes

6/7
Double Header today, had Greg/Alan in the morning, OTW 5am, beautiful sun rise, searched all over the place for them and not finding much, saw a bunch of regular bass tournament guys on the salt Smile Greg manage the only keeper of the morning shift, nice fat fish, 33" 13lbs, came in at noon, headed over to Logan, picked up my friend from Montana, back on the water 4pm, slow first hour than FOUND them, schoolies every cast or so, the amazing thing is Jerry fished with only one fly that I tied yesterday and caught over 50 fish with it, including a 34" beauty with wide shoulders Cool , beautiful sunset, will go at it again bright and early tomorrow

Did another double header on Sun, morning was very slow and evening was a repeat from Sat. lots of action
Mon. was just average, lots of schoolies
Tue. was dead slow, and the bugs are brutal
Yesterday with the weather change fishing was close to epic Very Happy , had Alan and Jerry onboard, action from 5am to 4pm, doubles and triples, keepers up to 33", lots of monsters on the flats
Switching gear for the next couple of days, going to go play with some big smallies with the fly rod Cool
